Failed to connect bR301 using Reader Firmware Update Tool

Post by Tarantino » Fri Oct 23, 2015 3:55 am

One more question pls.
I downloaded the "Reader Firmware Update" Tool from the Github Repository.
But when I connect my bR301 reader using this tool, it popup an error prompt "Open regedit failed", as shown in the screenshot.

Why this happened ? Is there something wrong with my operation?

Note
My computer: Windows 7 64bit system.

Hi

I am guessing you are using bluetooth connection with your PC.

For firmware update issue, we only support using USB port, please find USB cable work with your bR301 on PC(press button to power on bR301).

The reason is USB more stable than bluetooth connection.

Any questions, contact us anytime, Thanks,

Thanks for your fast answer. But i am experiencing another problem.

I connect the bR301 reader to the computer via USB cable as you said.

When I click the "Connect" button, the error prompt doesn't appear again.

But the output information tell me "Failed" . Why?

Are you using administrator to run update tool? The tool need to change regedit to open escape channel.

Please using administrator run under your windows, it should have warning message to let you re-plug reader to make escape channel works. let me know your test result, thanks

It works fine now. But i did nothing.
This tool can work well no matter if I am using administrator.
Thanks for your help anyway. I do appreciate it.
