Help with an access control project
I have a project regarding Java smart cards and RFID identification that I need some clarification on. The idea is that I want to have an arduino server that has an antenna on board that will identify and authenticate a given smart card. My plan is that I want to use a Java Card that is ISO14443 compatible so that I can store a GUID / identifier on the card and send it to the arduino which should be able to decrypt the message using the relative key from the diffie hellman exchange (thus authenticating that card).
The problems I'm facing are:
- Choosing the right hardware as there appear to be several types of standards on both the reader the card's.
My assumption is that, If I buy an ISO14443 type A OR B reader then any ISO14443 type A OR B compatible card will work?
- My understanding of the ISO14443 transmission protocol
Because I don't have access to any of the actual specification (it costs more than the hardware for this project and that's just the transmission segment of the overall spec), it feels like my plan of action regarding the RSA / Diffie hellman exchange, contradicts the actual protocol transmission, is this the case or do I have total control of the antenna?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
